PRESTON-ROUSE
COMPANY are commercial solicitors based in central London. Our partners are Judith Preston-Rouse, who founded the firm in 1987, and Michael Vann.We have formally established a system of cross consultancies with other solicitors.
We serve clients from three main sectors:
SME/Small Business Corporate/Commercial Consumer/Private Client Our main areas of practice include:Commercial Property, Commercial Landlord and Tenant, Corporate and Corporate Finance, Commercial Litigation, Commercial Contracts, Terms and Conditions of Trading, Contract advice drafting and negotiating, Copyright and Design, Internet Law, and other related work.
We also undertake residential and commercial property work of all kinds including mortgages and re-mortgages.
Through our consultants we are now able to offer legal services in family and employment law, all aspects of private client work, including wills, trusts and probate, estate planning, personal injury and in-house advocacy in all courts and tribunals.

A highly experienced commercial lawyer, Judith founded PRESTON-ROUSE
CO. in 1987, having previously been a partner with Kingsley Napley, the Director of Legal Services for the Lesser Group of Companies and a partner of Freedman & Co (a firm that specialised in building law as it affects the construction industry, allied trades and professions).She is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. For many years Judith was the intellectual property adviser to the Royal College of Art, dealing with copyright in relation to industrial design, fine art, textiles and motor vehicle design. She is listed in the International Edition of Professional Who's Who.
Judith is a consultant with Poole & Co. LLP in Crewkerne and Sherbourne in Somerset and McMillan Williams Solicitors at their office in South London.
Michael Vann MA (Oxon)

Educated at Marlborough College and Trinity College Oxford, Michael has many years' experience as a partner in one of London's leading law firms (Turner Kenneth Brown). With considerable expertise in the field of commercial property and property related banking, Michael is equally at home with corporate and private clients of all sizes.
Michael is also a named consultant with Poole & Co. LLP and McMillan Williams Solicitors.
Nicola Manning

Nicola Manning is our appointed external non-executive consultant who assists the firm in systems administration and compliance with best practice standards. Nicola, a practising solicitor since 1981, has had extensive experience in all aspects of solicitors' practice management. She was former Chair of the Law Society Practice Management Committee. Her skills lie in civil litigation, practice management and quality standards.
Stephen Forsey
Stephen qualified as a barrister in 1977 and practised in London at the General Common Law Bar before moving to Wragge & Co. in Birmingham as a solicitor where he specialised in Tax Law. He is a partner with Poole & Co. in Somerset and a named Consultant with PRESTON-ROUSE
CO. He specialises in all aspects of private client work particularly wills, trusts, probate and Inheritance Tax mitigation.Richard Maloney
Richard after being in the army as a Sandhurst trained officer, became a barrister in London before becoming a solicitor partner with Poole & Co. and a named Consultant with PRESTON-ROUSE
CO. Richard has retained his higher rights of audience advocacy licence and is able to appear in all levels of courts and tribunals in England and Wales. This at times obviates the need to engage the services of counsel. Richard specialises in all types of contentious work and dispute resolution. His main areas of specialisation lies in family law (divorce and ancillary relief), commercial litigation, contentious probate, employment law and personal injury claims. Puja Dutta

Puja Dutta has a law degree from London Metropolitan University and is a Solicitor who currently handles some but not all of our residential conveyancing under the supervision and direction of Michael Vann. Puja has also had experience in corporate share purchase agreements and litigation work under the supervision of Judith Preston-Rouse.
Lucy McAlister

Lucy McAlister BA (Cantab) will be with us for a year commencing 1st March 2010 as PA and office administrator before taking up her training contract with Herbert Smith. Lucy was President of Jesus College Law Society and plays the flute and piano to Grade 8 standard. Whilst there will be little call for her orchestral skills to be utilised at PRESTON-ROUSE
CO., her co-ordinating and other skills will certainly be of great value. The firm and its clients will benefit by her being part of the team for the time she is with us.
